  • Our next field trip is March 16th to the Kidspace Museum in Pasadena for the arthropod program. I need drivers-no more than 8 chaperones as everything needs to be reserved and paid by March 2nd.
  • We celebrated Ryan Frields birthday Friday and enjoyed all the treats his mom provided for the class.
  • Keep practicing the multiplication families at home. We are seeing good results on the 2 minute time tests!
  • I appreciated visiting with all the parents who attended the meeting last Monday evening in the chapel. It was great to have you come see what we are up to in the classroom.

  • Monday evening at 7 p.m.- Please join us for PTM. Mr. Chaffin will explain the new PASS program plus other important pieces of information in the chapel before dismissing you to the classroom where you can pick up the 2nd quarter report cards.

  • Chapter 5 multiplication test on Wednesday over the family of facts for the 2's, 3's, 4's, 5's, and 10's.

  • Spelling test on Wednesday and Friday next week

  • 3's multiplication test at 2 minutes on Friday
  • Bible test on lessons 16-18 on Friday
  • We are in full swing with our multiplication facts. Each week the students will be given a 2 minute time test on a family of facts. so far we have done the 2's and the 5's. Each student has a chart to keep track of his or her progress. Please drill your children at home as we also work on the facts in class.
  • Congratulations to all the students with perfect attendance for the 2nd quarter: Daniel Arrington, Abigail Crisolo, Michelle Dibo, Flever Dignadice, Paola Duarte, Joshua Franco, Philip Hyon, Brandon Kwon, Sophia Lang, Vania Linares, Alyssa Lui, Jorge Mijangos, Jacob Orrill, Anthony Spearman, Arthur Terzyan, and Jamie Woodhouse.
  • Congratulations to these students for getting 100% on all the 2nd quarter spelling tests: Abigail Crisolo, Michelle Dibo, Joshua Franco, Michael George, Phillip Hyon, Vania Linares, Alyssa Lui, Maya Martinez, and Daniella Pidal.
  • We have finished Heritage Studies for the semester with our field trip to the Autry National Center and Travel Town as well as with our chuck wagon treats of biscuits, bacon, and beans and a cowboy DVD. We will begin the second semester with science. Our first chapter will be on cells, tissues, and organs.

Proverbs 9:10 "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the holy one is understanding."
  • Spelling test on Wednesday and Friday
  • Memory verse due on Friday- James 3:14-15
  • Chapter 10 English test on Friday
  • Field trip on Thursday. We are going to the Autry National Center and Travel Town to enhance our unit on "The Wild West" and the Transcontinental Railroad. We will leave at 9:00 a.m. and return at approximately 2:00 p.m. Students are to wear field trip T-shirts and uniform bottoms. The cost is $5 and permission slips need to be returned by Tuesday.
  • The end of the second quarter and first semester is this coming Friday, the 14th.
  • We are now working on the basic multiplication facts in math. We will be taking 2 minute time tests for each family. Twenty-five students already passed at 100% for the 2's family. The students will record their progress on individual charts and be rewarded for each 100%. Please work at home on the facts. Our next test will be on the 5's.
